Think Kids Learning Toys for Birthdays

kids learning toys
For this year's birthday, try to forget all of the flashy video games, cartoon inspired toys and expensive dolls and consider getting your kids learning toys. Educational toys do not have to be as dull and boring as most kids assume they are from the start. Many educational toys and games do not even appear to be educational in nature at first glance, even.

Nintendo offers a game for their portable DS system called Brain Age that encourages gamers to exercise their brains in their free time. There are a series of simple and complex metal exercises included in the game that are both challenging and fun.

The Best Toys for Kids Can Be the Oldest

best toys for kids
Sometimes the best toys for kids are the simplest. Kids love complicated electronic gadgets with all the bells and whistles, but old classics like simple dolls and racecars are just as popular with todays kids as they were thirty years ago.

My youngest childs favorite toy is a clown doll that I had as a small child. It taught me how to button, tie my shoes, close a snap, count to five, and use a zipper. Don’t overlook the appeal of good old fashioned toys that have been popular for decades. Sometimes they are the best toys for your kids.

Unusual Kids Toys Becoming More Popular

unusual kids toys
In recent years, unusual kids toys are becoming more and more popular, with unique new toys hitting the shelves of toy stores at a staggering rate. Some of the more interesting unusual toys that have hit the market in the past few years are toys that involve a small electric shock as part of the game.

The shocker reaction game available at most toy stores gives the last player to react to a change in lighting a small electric shock that is sure to surprise and “shock” the losing player! These games make for great party games and the reaction from the player who gets shocked is always humorous.

Kids Pool Toys Make Swimming Fun!

kids pool toys
I live in Arizona, so you can imagine that it's important for me to find the best, coolest pool toys for my kids. Kids pool toys these days are in many cases extravagant, with some commanding prices into the hundreds of dollars.

The best toys, though, are usually the least expensive. Finding a good pool volleyball set (for a shallow pool) or water basketball hoop can make all the difference in the world to your kids. And buying a toy that promotes active play as opposed to sedentary recreation is always a good idea when children are concerned.

Another great pool toy for kids is the underwater rocket. The rocket allows you to toss it through the water to a partner on the other side of the pool. Your kids will enjoy tons of fun throwing it back and forth underwater as if they were playing on land.

Water Toys For Kids and Adults, Too

water toys for kids
With Spring fast approaching, it's getting to the time of year when water toys for kids are going to be everywhere. My kid’s favorite water toys almost exclusively involve getting an unsuspecting friend, sibling, or parent soaked as quickly and unexpectedly as possible. This means that as it gets warmer I have to constantly be on the lookout for surprise attacks.

My solution to this is to make sure to buy at least one high powered water gun for myself when I get them for my kids. This way, they know that any ambush by them will result in them getting soaked even more than me when they least expect it. It’s a fun game and keeps you involved in your kids playtime as an equal. If your kids are crazy about water toys, get yourself one too and get in on the action.
